Trained and certified in the methodology of life care planning which
produces a
comprehensive evaluation of the current and future health care needs of
individuals
with catastrophic injuries. As an independent consultant, designs life
care
plans; analyzes residual medical and disability issues; consults with medical
and
rehabilitation professionals; researches medical treatment, assistive
technology,
and equipment needs and costs; and provides expert witness
deposition
and trial testimony. As a Life Care Planner, has provided direct case
management
services to a child with short bowel syndrome, a diabetic patient on
dialysis,
and a hospice cancer patient. Life care plans are based on published
standards
of practice, comprehensive assessment, data analysis, and research.
